Kid and Family Round Up at CRUSH Walls 2020

Two Bee Industries was thrilled to participate in this year’s events combining on-line classes and in person activities, this year’s CRUSH Graffiti festival took deep dives into urban and street art mediums including wheat paste, yarn bombing and vinyl toy painting. Participants were able to pick up art kits from the Pauline Robinson branch of the Denver Public Library and join us on three zoom calls meeting fiber artist Pam Kravetz , wheat paste creator Greg Gandy and muralist Mike Graves . From home we learned to finger knit and decorate our neighborhoods with yarn, color and paste our own wheat paste designs and decorate Munny dolls from the KidRobot line. And while all of this sounds like big fun (it was) we also looked at the art history behind the activities, where cool ideas came from and where to see examples of these arts today. Our big finale was an arts day in the park yarn bombing vintage horses and doing wheat paste walls with Greg. Over one hundred families from around Denver were able to participate in the free events, launching our next generation of artists, can’t wait to see what they come up with next. Powerpoints of each of the zoom workshops with all their fantastic links and resources are still open for viewing at these links Wheat Paste Workshop , Yarn Bombing Workshop , Munny Design Workshop A HUGE thank you to RiNo Arts District for making all these good things possible and to VF Corp and Bonfils-Stanton Foundation for the Kids and Family programming support. Stay tuned for more fantastic family activities as we roll into winter, the festival continues!
